JOSH Turnbull and George Lindley did the junior Alnwick Harriers proud last Thursday in the Gateshead Indoor Standards meeting at Gateshead Stadium.
Competing in the U15 Boys’, Josh ran a fantastic 8.70s over 60m, which was a personal best, and George ran 10.38s.
George competed in the high jump, finishing fourth and clearing 1.10m. Josh finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 3.54m.
The grand prix points from these indoor meetings in the U15 Boys’ category currently see Peter Skirrow sixth, Alex Tait seventh, Owen Davidson ninth, Edward Bell 10th and Josh Turnbull 12th.
The final meet of the series is on Thursday, March 15, at Gateshead Stadium.
Also competing for Alnwick Harriers at the weekend in Scottish National U16 Combined Events Championship at Glasgow was Peter Skirrow.
Competing in five events over the course of the day, Peter had an excellent result, finishing fifth overall.
He set a new club record in the 60m hurdles of 10.93s, threw 5.55m in the shot put, cleared 1m.39cm in the high jump, leapt 4m22 in the long jump and ran an impressive 10s personal best in the 800m in a time of 2m32s, giving him an overall total of 1,451 points which is another indoor club record.
