These two promising rugby players have been selected for England U18 Clubs and Schools.
Tom Penny and Aston Whitlow are due to represent the nation at this level at Coolmine RFC, Dublin, on Saturday, March 30.
The pair are both former players of Alnwick Rugby Club and are products of its youth system.
Tom and Aston have been representing North England U18s.
The team recently beat London and South East U18s but lost to Midlands U18s.
Aston, of Gosforth Academy, joined Alnwick Rugby Club as a new starter to the sport in the U14s, while Tom, who attends the Royal Grammar School in Newcastle, joined Alnwick Minis in 1995, aged four.
Chairman of Alnwick Rugby Club, Ken Fairbairn, said: “It means a lot to the club. It is huge. Both lads have come through the junior section and it shows the good work that is being done in this part of the club.”
