WINNER: Tamsin Green – Surf-Kayak

SURF-KAYAK star Tamsin was crowned Senior Female after an unforgettable 2011, and admitted: “It’s a really lovely way to round it off.”

In what was a sensational year, the High Hauxley star became World Champion.

And 37-year-old Tamsin – a teacher at Amble’s James Calvert Spence College – did it in style, by winning every heat on her way to glory in the High Performance class.

It meant that she had won every major women’s award in the sport.

British champ Tamsin also represented England, alongside husband Dan, in the championship’s team event and helped the nation to a second-place finish.

Reflecting on her World’s success, Tamsin, who wants to raise the profile of the sport, said: “It was a culmination of everything I had worked for and dreamed of for a very long time.”
