WINNER: Percy Hunt Open Tetrathlon Team

THE Percy Hunt Open Tetrathlon Team were convincing winners in August’s National Championships – something which had never been achieved by the club before.

The team, which consisted of Steph Courty, Rebecca and Suzanne Barwise-Munro and Liz Pettifer, put in consistently-high performances in all four phases of the competition which included riding, running, shooting and swimming.

They were particularly outstanding in achieving faultless rounds in the very testing cross-country phase – a feat achieved by only 30 per cent of competitiors.

Not only did the Percy Hunt outfit win the team contest, but two of the girls also achieved top-five individual finishes in the Championships.

Steph Courty picked up the Junior Team award on behalf of her Percy Hunt colleagues and praised the team’s spirit and dedication.

“It is so nice to be on the team.

“We encourage each over and it is such a friendly team,” she said.
