Howick (124 all out) v Rock (126-0)
Alnwick & District Cricket League
UNBEATEN half-centuries from Roderick Bell and Bobby Dodds helped see Rock to a dominant 10-wicket win over Howick.
Opening batsmen Bell (64 not out) and Dodds (50 not out) guided Rock to victory with a reply of 126-0 after their opponents had earlier been dismissed for 124.
Andrew Jamieson was the pick of the Howick batsmen with a knock of 66, which included 10 fours and two sixes, while Richard Elliott also contributed with 28.
Andrew Gray took 4-40 for Rock – who had won the toss – while Wayne Dunn ended with figures of 3-24. Oliver Page (1-15) and Michael Williams (1-22) also got in amongst the wickets.
In reply, Rock surpassed the Howick total in less than 24 overs and without losing a wicket, making sure there was no repeat of the collapse which saw them dismissed for 26 against Wooler the week before.
Bell smashed five fours and a six during his knock, while Dodds’ unbeaten 50 included seven fours and a six as Rock took the honours.
