U20 Peter Skirrow was Alnwick Harriers’ sole representative at the North Eastern Indoor Championships at Gateshead International Stadium.

Pete NE Indoor Championshipsr’s first event was the triple jump, which saw him increasing his jumping distance through each round until he produced a final personal best jump in the closing round of 13.33m to take the title.

After an hour and a half’s recovery, Peter was back in action again, this time in the Long Jump. Consecutive ‘no jumps’ meant that Peter had toexecute a ‘safe’ jump in the third round in order to progress further.

Unfortunately he wasn’t quite able to hit the take-off board in the subsequent rounds, but his earlier safe jump of 6.53m was sufficient to earn him another gold medal.
