Alnwick Harriers

Thirteen Harriers took part in the latest of the 2013 Grand Prix races, the Gibside Fruit Bowl Trail Race, on Sunday.

First home for the club in this undulating race held in lovely surroundings was Andy Squires.

Andy finished the course, which was longer than last year’s, in 50.32.

Second Harrier, and first female, was Sarah Gray in 54.15.

Also that day, six Harriers took part in the fast and flat Yorkshire Marathon in York.

First home, preparing for yet another marathon next Sunday, was Cris Atwell.

However, the stand-out performances were from Maureen and Dave Bartrum, who both ran pbs in just under four hours.

The day before, three Harriers took part in the Newcastle Parkrun.

Pauline Aitchison ran well to finish as fifth female and first in the female 40 category.
