North Northumberland Ladies Friendly Golf League
The North Northumberland Ladies Friendly Golf League annual competition and presentation day took place this year at Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club.
Unfortunately, the weather was atrocious and the Tex-Mex competition took place over just six holes.
The winners with 15 points were Julia Roxburgh (Percy Wood), Phyl Dunn (Goswick), Mary Tully (Rothbury) and Dot Smith (Seahouses).
Second place with 14 points were Heather Allan (Wooler), Lesley Wylde (Dunstanburgh), Jill Archer (Bamburgh) and Hazel Rutter (Percy Wood).
Third with 13 points were Kathleen Brydon (Wooler), Hilary Buckley (Alnmouth Village), Iris Gilhome (Bamburgh) and Cath Debbage (Percy Wood).
The league itself was won by the ladies from Rothbury with 27 points and all seven players were present to receive the Salver. In second place were the ladies from Goswick with 25.5 and they received glass trophies.
A special commemorative prize was presented to Helen Foggon from Rothbury, who had a hole-in-one in a league match on the par-three, first hole at Bamburgh and then went on to win her match.
The League President, Angela Peereboom, who presented the prizes again this year named Bobbie Minshull from Goswick as her Player of the Year with a record of seven matches played and seven won. Unfortunately, Bobbie was not present to receive her trophy or the league’s congratulations on her achievement.
League officials thanked all ladies who have played this year and Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club for hosting the presentation day.
