More than £5,400 was raised from entry fees, raffles, sponsorship and donations, for Rotary charities.

The major beneficiaries this year are the Great North Air Ambulance, HospiceCare North Northumberland and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Representatives of the three organisations were at the presentation ceremony to each receive a cheque from Rotary Club President Jill Clark for £1,000.

At the prize-giving ceremony, Jill said: “As well as our nominated charities, we will not forget other local good causes that deserve our assistance.”
