Richard finishes two shots ahead of the field

Open Day Golf

LINDEN Hall hosted the third in the series of Open Days in the Kaims Country Park North Northumberland League on Saturday and it is fair to say the course was the overall winner.

Cool blustery conditions made it a stiff test and not surprisingly scoring was high.

Richard Campbell, from Alnmouth Village, posted the best gross score of 77, three above the day’s competition scratch score and two better than runner-up Simon Olver, of Seahouses.

Leading nett score was 72 by K Stansfield (Seahouses) and E Fyvie (Magdalene Fields).

On the credit side, there was a full entry of 88 players representing the 11 clubs.
