A record turn-out is expected for this Sunday’s Run Northumberland Bamburgh 10k, with almost 400 people entered.
Described as one of the most scenic and inspiring races in the UK, the event has become one of he most popular in the county.
This flat road race starts at Bamburgh Castle, goes through the village, heads towards Seahouses and then goes back up the coast road and finishes at the castle.
Richard Hunter, the organiser of the Run Northumberland series, said: “Bamburgh is a great location. The castle provides a unique start-and-finish location which attracts runners from as far as far afield as Norfolk and Kent, as well as from across the north of England and the Scottish Borders.”
The headquarters is Bamburgh Pavilion, which is located in front of the castle.
Entrants must be over the age of 16 on the day of the race, which starts at 10am.
Entry for affiliated runners is £11.50, while unaffiliated is £13.50.
Entrants must register by Saturday morning at the latest. On-the-day entry is not available.
