Point-to-point racing returns to Ratcheugh, Alnwick, on Sunday for the Percy meeting.

Racing starts at noon for the seven-race card. Admission is £10 per head, with under 16s free.

The meeting begins with the Hunt Members Race. Only four have entered but quality is strong, with an interesting clash between Jimmy Walton’s Highland Cathedral and Victor Thompson’s Tommysteel.

The two-and-a-half mile Open Maiden has attracted an entry of 16. Victory for Volo Mio will provide a welcome return to the winner’s enclosure for Rennington’s George White.

Eleven go to post for the Men’s Open which is strong in quality.

The Ladies Open has attracted 12 entries. Jimmy Walton is double-handed in this one with Sacred Mountain and Highland Cathedral.

The NPPA Club Members Race is again strong in quality while the Restricted Race, with an entry of 15, could prove a close-run affair. Preference could go to Melrose-based Raid Stane, a recent course winner.

If successful, the obvious choice for the three-mile Open Maiden is Job for Eric, with Victor Thompson’s Sir Tamburlane and George White’s Volo Mio providing opposition.
