Penny Black raise a glass as they become B Division champions after win at the Shilbottle club

Alnwick Premier Darts League, A Division

It was top versus bottom, as The Travellers visited The John Bull, and it was The Bull who took an early lead winning the singles 3-1. The Travellers came back to win both the pairs, the team games and the match 4-3.

Team Dinga hosted The Alnwick Arms. In a very close match, the points were shared in the singles despite Ryan ‘Brushstrokes’ Kent hitting a 180 and Lee Hopper a 102 checkout. With a point each in the pairs, Team Dinga took the honours in the teams to win the match 4-3.

It was derby night at Alnwick Club with the Bar taking on the B team. It was The B team that got off to a good start taking three of the four singles. Points were shared in the pairs with the teams going the way of The Bar. The final score was AWMC Bar 3-4 AWMC B.

Shilbottle travelled to The Oddies to play The B team. Shilbottle started well, winning the first three singles despite a 180 from Sean Turner in his match. Jeff ‘Braveheart’ Pritchard claimed the last of the singles for The Oddies and also recorded his first 180 of the season.

Both pairs went the way of The Club, but the Oddies claimed the final point of the match to leave a scoreline of Oddies B 2-5 Shilbottle Club.

B Division

The Penny Black were crowned champions with a 4-3 win over Shilbottle Club’s B team.

The points were shared in the singles, but The Pennies won both the pairs, with Ian Donkin recording a 180 for The Pennies. The Club took the final point in the teams, but The Penny Black won the match 4-3.

In the second derby of the night, AWMC A played AWMC C. It was the veterans of the C Team that had the better start taking the first two singles with Ken ‘Eagle Eye’ Snaith finishing on 114 in his match.

The next two singles went the way of the A Team with Mike Oliver recording a 113 checkout in his match. Both the pairs and the teams were won by AWMC A who took the match 5-2.

The Fleece and The Market Tavern shared the points in the singles, but The Market went on to win all remaining games, and the match 5-2.

Alnwick Golf Club played host to The Farriers who went 3-1 up after the singles. The points were shared in the pairs and the golfers won the final point in the teams. Final score Alnwick Golf Club 3-4 The Farriers.
