THE North Northumberland Junior Golf League has new sponsors this season.

Tustain Motors has stepped in and decided to support the local junior golf league which has, over the years, always been funded by local companies in the area.

In the current financial climate it has been difficult for lots of local businesses to commit to sponsorship and therefore it is a big boost for the league to get a commitment from Tustain, who will help cover the majority of the league’s annual expenses.

The Vauxhall dealership has been based in Alnwick for the last three years under the leadership of managing director David Storey, who handed a £500 cheque to league chairman Tom Cowie.

David, who is a keen golfer himself, with a handicap of nine, was more than happy to support the game of golf at grassroots level and wished the league success in the coming season.

l The match between the junior league and the men’s league will be held at Warkworth on April 29.

Any junior wanting to play in this event should contact their junior organiser.
