Narrow defeat for Castle crew

Friendly: Bamburgh Castle (102 all out) v Percy Farmers (108-8)

Bamburgh entertained their friends from Percy Farmers for a 20-20 game at the Castle field last Thursday and lost a close match by six runs.

Batting first, the Farmers lost a wicket off the fifth ball of the innings, bringing Johnnie Ridley in to join Jamie Patterson at the crease.

There were two wickets each for Laurence Reeves (2-13) and Billy Wright (2-4), with the bowlers restricted to two overs each.

Best bowling were: J Coomber 2-4, J Ridley 2-3 and D Plumley 2-6. The match was sponsored by Jim Calligham of Bamburgh.
