Match fails to run its course

Embleton (31-2) v Mitford – match abandoned

The only other game to get started in the Johnnie Johnson Housing Alnwick and District Cricket League on Saturday had to be abandoned after just 13.2 overs.

Embleton had been put into bat by the home side, currently second in the league, and bowler Matthew Lees struck twice before the game was called off.

Mitford were in the driving seat with the scores at 31-2, but there was no play.

Seven of Embleton’s games this season have ended in draws, with six of Mitford’s going the same way.
