League rallies to find new teams

Alnwick and District Badminton League

The league, which was formed in the winter of 1980/81 and has been running for 32 consecutive seasons is looking for additional teams.

In the first few season, six teams were entered, requiring six-a-side mixed teams.

At its peak there were 11 teams from as far away as Belford to Whalton in mid Northumberland.

In the past few seasons there has been five teams who have all been struggling to field four players each.
