Winter League: Last Sunday both the temperatures and scores dipped from the preceding weekend’s highs at the Swansfield course. In a field of 43 players Malcolm Peart best braved the chill to take first place in week 12 of the Winter League with a very respectable 39pts. Second place went to Michael Bedford on countback, both he and Russell Cooke who was placed third returned cards of 38. Cyril Jobson, Wayne Belisle and Alan Black were one further point back on 37. Malcolm’s win sent him up four places to second spot with a total of 42pts in the Order of Merit while Wayne’s fifth place was enough to see him leapfrog over Peter Lewis to take over at the head of the table on 43, while Peter drops to third on 38. Michael Bedford is creeping up on the leaders, now in fourth on 38. The twos club payout was good with only three recorded, Kevin Murphy at the second, Dan Swordy at the fourth and Ray Holding at the 15th.

Bacon Sarnie Challenge: The Bacon Sarnie Challenge was won with a score of 105pts by the three ball of Malcolm Peart, Michael Bedford and Lawrie Stewart, whose score the mathematically inclined of you should be able to work out from the rest of the information given above should you wish to do so.
