Town lads through to the next round
Corbridge United 1 Alnwick Town 3
Pin Point U11 League Cup
Alnwick took advantage of a long break over the Christmas period with a superb display at Corbridge who play one division above them in the Pin Point Recruitment Junior Leagues.
Alnwick started strongly and took an early lead when Joe Aynsley fired home on five minutes.
Alnwick kept goo possession with Tom Forster and Owen Johnson impressive on the ball.
However, Corbridge were strong and put up stiff resistance, which eventually told when they beat the reliable Frewing in the Alnwick goal.
The score stayed at stalemate as the first half came to an end.
Alnwick went ahead shortly after half-time when a mistake by the Corbridge keeper handed Aynsley his second goal, providing a cushion for the visitors, but only by a single score.
Wass and Paige went close for Alnwick but the third goal was proving difficult.
With five minutes remaining a defence-splitting pass from Harry Felton put Aynsley through.
He slotted home for his team’s third goal which also saw him complete his hat-trick, topping off an impressive display and putting Alnwick in the next round of the cup and a potential tie with Cramlington Juniors.
