Amble United progressed to Round Three of the Challenge Cup after a 3-4 victory at Stocksfield this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Alnwick Town Reserves were thumped 7-1 at Bedlington Terriers Reserves to be dumped from the George Dobbins League Cup in the second round.

In Division One, Wallington notched a good 3-2 win against Gateshead Redheugh, while Wooler suffered a rare defeat in Division Two, North Shields Athletic winning the battle of the top two 2-4 to leapfrog them to the summit.
