Alnwick Town U11 3 Blyth Town Whites U11 1

U11 La Liga One

A hard-fought game ended in joy for Alnwick and their manager Andrew Forster on a windy day at Greensfield.

Blyth offered some stiff resistance and could have easily been two goals up if not for excellent keeping by Max Paige.

Despite the early pressure, Alnwick took the lead on 18 minutes when Aynsley found Connor Radden who took his chance well.

A superb turn and shot from Owen Johnson doubled the advantage on 23 minutes and stunned Blyth who were still pressing for an equaliser.

After the break, Alnwick continued to pressure with good support from James Crisp-Saunders and Elliott Wass and this paid off on 65 minutes when the impressive Joe Aynsley made it 3-0 to Alnwick ending any Blyth hopes of a recovery.

Felton and Forster were impressive in defence, despite a late consolation goal for the visitors.
