The Northumberland Premier League champions for 2012 - Alnmouth & Lesbury CC.

Alnmouth & Lesbury Cricket Club have been promoted to the Northumberland & Tyneside Senior Cricket League for next season.

The decision was made last week and comes after the first team won the Premier Division of the Northumberland Cricket League (NCL) in 2012.

It means that the league-winning side will jump into Division A2, while the second string will leave the Alnwick & District Cricket League (ADL) and join Division B2.

Alnmouth are not turning their back entirely on the ADL next season as they will be working in partnership with Howick to jointly field a team in the league.

At the NCL end-of-season awards, a number of Alnmouth players were honoured for a great campaign.

Paul Straker won the Batting Award (most runs) as well as Player of the Season Award, Ben Oliver took the award for most wickets and Tom Vickers was wicketkeeper of the season.

The club has also been given planning permission to build bigger/more modern changing rooms, toilets and scoring facilities at its ground.
