Successful week for Alnwick bowls

It has been a successful week for Alnwick in the Northumberland Bowling Association competitions.

County fours: George Turner, Ray Topping, Russ Dale and Dougie Miller (s) had a walkover against Gosforth Garden Village.

County triples: Michael Grant, Turner and Miller (s) won against a Collingwood triple.

Pairs: Michael Fairbairn and John Heron lost at Cramlington, Ray Topping and George Batey lost at Rothbury.

In their Bell Cupsection, Alnwick were runners-up.

Nines League: Lost by seven shots to Fossway.

The ladies had a bye in their league and won a friendly against Wooler.
