Vee, in only her second half ironman distanceevent, crossed the line in 5.06.10 coming third in her age group, sixth woman out of262, and 152 nd overall from over 1100 finishers. Knocking almost eight minutes off herprevious best, this was all the more remarkable as Vee suffered serious injuries aftera bike accident last summer and only returned to full training in Spring. This caps a promising start to the season which has seen Vee position herself as one of the strongest female TT cyclist in the region, racing for Amble-based Breeze Bikes Racing Team, and follows her first overall tri win at Ashington Sprint Triathlon earlier in May.
