Earlier that day, two Harriers took part in the Newcastle Parkrun.
Due to large sections of the route being icy, a lot of the race took part on grass and mud at the side of the footpaths, resulting in slower times and a slightly longer course.
Peter Grey finished 18th of the 217 finishers in 20.22, while Phil Baston was 86th in 24.24.
The following day the club was represented by three members in the Simonside Cairns Fell Race.
The race was shortened slightly due to very icy conditions on the slabs at the top of Simonside, making the distance about 10.5 miles.
First Harrier to finish, winning the male 50 category in 14th place, was Phil Hemsley.
Results: 14–Phil Hemsley 1.24.50; 90–Bridget Peberdy 2.07.48; 91–John Cockburn 2.07.48.
