Conditions promised much for anglers

With a dying northerly sea and plenty of colour in the water, there was a chance of some fish.

Anthony Gibbison won the match with four cod for 8lb 6oz. Antony Abbott was second with one cod and one flounder for 4lb.

He also had the heaviest fish, a cod of 3lb 8½oz.

The only other angler to weigh in was George Hornsby with one cod at 1lb 6oz.

Heaviest fish: Fluff 2lb 13¼oz. Heaviest flat: Ian Harrogate, 1lb 3½oz.

Doubles knockout final: Colin Dawson and Ian Harrogate; Gordon Holland and Fluff.

February meeting is on Thursday 7, at the Radcliffe Club Amble, starting at 7.30pm. New members always welcome.

Fishing For Everyone

Fishing For Everyone will be supporting Fishing For Heroes and HospiceCare North Northumberland this year.

The Fishing For Heroes fund-raising event will be held on Saturday, April 27, at Chatton Trout Fishery.

The HospiceCare event is to be held on Sunday, September 15, at the same location.
