This delighted youngster is angling to become a good fisherman, after he landed an impressive haul – at just four years old.
Bobby Michael Thompson showed age was no barrier as he caught seven flounder for 4lb 15oz.
Amazingly, the rookie rodsman, from Amble, only took up the sport last summer.
And he landed his catch of the day on Sunday – just the third time he had fished.
His impressed mum, Sara Manders, 31, said: “He was over the moon.
“It was his biggest catch and we are very proud of him.”
The youngster was fishing with his mum’s partner Ashley Gray, 30, when he landed the catch.
The pair were out with the Amble Sea Angling Club and were fishing at Warkworth beach. Bobby was out from 8am to 1pm.
The youngster, who is a pupil at Amble’s St Cuthbert’s RC First School, enjoys being out and about.
Sara added: “Bobby loves being outside and he loves the beach.”
