Rough sea conditions this week saw a welcome return of codling and most anglers managed to weigh in, with one managing to bag a season-best cod.

Steve Ayling won the match with a good bag of four cod for 14lb 8oz, which also included the heaviest fish of the season so far, a nice conditioned cod of 7lb 15oz. Second was Ian Hall with five cod and a flounder for 8lb 10½oz.

Other anglers weighing in were: Anthony Gibbison, five cod, 8lb 6oz; Patrick Porteous, two cod, 8lb 4oz; Kevin Donnelly, four cod, 7lb 10oz; Willie Morton, three cod, 5lb 11½oz; Darren Ferrow two cod, 5lb 9oz; Micky Buck, two cod, 3lb 12oz; John Stephenson, two cod, 2lb 15½oz; George Hornsby, one cod, 2lb 1oz; Roberto Peruzzo, one cod, 1lb 15½oz; Steve Scott, one cod, 1lb 5oz.
