Ian Whillis Trophy

Kevin McDine won through a tough field in Shilbottle on Saturday, beating Paul Knighting in the semi-final and just missing double 12 for a nine-darter.

England youth masters champion Callan Rydz claimed his place in the final with some superb darts.

Callan took a 3-1 lead, but the experience of the PDC-ranked (Premier Darts Corporation) number 47 showed through as Kevin won 4-3.

The organisers, K Fletcher and I Tate, thanked all the players and supporters who turned out to once again make this one of the best competitions in the area.

The standard of darts was fantastic and the success of the event goes to show how well Ian was thought of as the competition is still going strong after six years.

The organisers would also like to thank Ian’s family – Susan, Wayne and Kiera Whillis for their continued support.
