THE Hotspur’s challenge produced a cup shock in the Alnwick Premier Darts League, as Division B side The Hotspur overcame higher-league opponents to book a semi-final spot in the Subsidiary Plate.
The second-tier side narrowly beat the Fleece, of Division A, 4-3 in the competition’s first round. To put extra shine on the result, the victory meant that The Hotspur knocked out their pub rivals to claim bar bragging rights.

Division A sides The George and Gate B avoided any cup upsets as they also reached the semi-finals, winning 4-1 against Oddies A and Shilbottle Club respectively.
