Results from sea-angling clubs in north Northumberland

Alnwick Sea Angling

Although conditions on Sunday were not ideal, Clive Miller managed to catch a cracking conditioned cod of 6lb 9½oz to win the match. This was the heaviest fish and the best cod weighed in so far this season.

Anthony Gibbison was second with four cod, 5lb 14½oz; third was Steve McKee with two cod and a good flounder, 4lb ½oz.

Others: Andrew Stanton, two cod, 2lb 11oz; Darren Ferrow, one cod, 1lb 10½oz; Ian Hall, one cod, 1lb 4oz; Antony Abbott, one cod, 1lb 1oz; Patrick Porteous, one cod, 1lb 1oz.

Next Sunday is the marathon, with registration at 8.30am at AFS.

Results: Kevin Rutherford, two cod, 2lb 5¼oz; Zac Aynsley, one plaice, one dab, 2lb 5¼oz; Ian Harrogate, two flounder, 2lb 2¼oz; Colin Dawson, two whiting, two flounder, 1lb 14oz; Ken Middlemist, two flounder, 1lb 1¼oz; Craig Taylor, two flounder, 15½oz; Craig Middlemist, two flounder, 11½oz; Fluff Anderson, one whiting, 10½oz; Jacek Juszczyk, one flounder, 8oz. Heaviest fish: Kevin Rutherford, 1lb 3oz. Heaviest flatfish: Zac Aynsley (plaice) 1lb 4½oz. Zac also had a very nice dab of 1lb 1¼oz.
