Sarah Cross made her marathon debut in possibly one of the most beautiful, scenic marathons on Monday – the Milton Keynes Marathon.
Sarah, a relatively new Harrier, has been training well over the winter and performed very well, completing the course in 4.30.14, well done Sarah.
Also on that day, John Ross and Mark Hume took part in the first race of the 5k Jesmond Dene Handicap Series, organised by Heaton Harriers.
Results: 47-John Ross 24.43; 61-Mark Hume 30.52.
On Saturday, six Harriers took part in the Newcastle Parkrun, with the highlights being a personal best for 16-year-old Daniel Leng and the long-awaited return of Mary Plumley.
Mary has been out injured for ages and has not raced since the Alnwick NEHL fixture in early 2012, so it was great to see her back in a Harriers vest.
Results: 9-Daniel Leng 18.10; 106-Phil Baston 21.51; 150-Sue Bolam 22.57; 165-Charlotte Baston 23.22; 183-Mary Plumley 23.50; 228-Phil Lee 24.43.
The following day Gay and Richard Eastoe took part in the undulating Keswick half-marathon.
The pair crossed the line in 349 and 350th places in 2.06.10.
