Four Harriers were in action at the Hillforts and Headaches fell race at Rothbury on New Year’s Day.
The race starts at the Newcastle Arms and is a three-mile uphill sprint to the top of Beacon Hill.
Bruce Crombie started the new year as he finished off the old one, in fine form.
Bruce improved on 2013’s time by just over a minute to finish fifth and take more honours, the male 40 category.
Andy Squires, Jim Lillico and John Cockburn also represented Alnwick.

Later that day, six Harriers took part in the Morpeth 11k.
The race started at Morpeth Rugby Club and headed out into the country through Mitford along undulating roads, before returning to the town centre along a fast downhill three-mile stretch.
Adam Fletcher was quids in, finishing second in the male 45 category.
Mark Doctor and Stuart Morris had a close battle, while Cris Atwell, Alex Reed and Shelley Coates also took part.
