Goswick still on top despite free week

NORTH Northumberland Junior Golf League

IN week four of the junior golf league, Goswick have maintained the top position even though they had a free week as the teams below failed to take full advantage of the situation.

Only Alnwick Castle made strides as they showed they are no pushovers in producing a fine away win at Seahouses, taking full points and jumping into second spot.

Last year’s champions Linden Hall held on to a win at home against a strong Alnmouth team and Magdalene Fields had a good home win against Rothbury by the same score, five points to three, and the points were shared between Percy Wood and Warkworth.

Bamburgh had a free week.

Meanwhile, in the knockout cup, Seahouses beat Magdalene Fields at home and there were home wins for Rothbury against Percy Wood and Goswick against Alnmouth with only one outstanding match to play, with Bamburgh taking on Linden Hall at home.
