Good times as young Harriers breeze home

THE third of the North Eastern Harrier league competitions took place on Saturday in Blaydon. Conditions were good, with the forecasted strong winds fortunately not in evidence.

Alnwick Junior Harriers saw an excellent turnout from the boys with well-supported U13 and U15 teams. Isabella Neri represented Alnwick in the Mixed U11s, while Amy Thorne ran in the U13 Girls.

Fast packers Rosie Murton and Suzanne Barwise-Munro ran in the U15 Girls, both posting top-10 times. Molly Murton was Alnwick’s sole representative for the U17 Girls, securing 13th position.

In the U13 Boys, Alfie Murton ran a solid race to finish first home for the club, backed up by Harry Davidson. Ben Kelly, with a fast-pack handicap secured third counter for the club.

In the U15 Boys’ competition a strong junior team held onto second place overall in the league to date.

Issac Moss made an outstanding debut for the club, finishing the race in first position overall, while team member Adam Weightman ran Alnwick’s fastest lap of the day in 10 minutes 17 seconds.
