On a hard, bouncy pitch, the home team was the first to show when Town keeper Luc Glasper was forced to make a finger tip save from Moore in the ninth minute.

Alnwick had several missed opportunities, and Glasper had to make another save, but just before half-time he received a kick to the knee, which took the whole of the half-time break to treat.

Alnwick took a deserved lead ten minutes into the second half when Kieran Hogg passed the ball down the wing for Dominic Schiavetta to clip the ball onto Jordan Miller in the centre of the box, who deftly shot into the near side with a ground shot.

Glasper had to be alert to deny the home side again, but Alnwick scored their second with a good move down their left when Schiavetta flicked through to Miller to run onto and hit a hard rising shot from just inside the box.

Ryton got onto the score sheet when Edward Keenan was clear on the left and scored from just inside the box to make it 1-2, but Alnwick hung on for the victory.
