TELEVISION presenter and former Commonwealth Games gymnast Gabby Logan has called on Northumberland schools to sign up for the Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week.
Last year, more than 14,000 schools across Britain signed up to the week-long national initiative, with five million children taking part in a host of activities. And Logan has urged schools to join in the fun again.
The mum-of-two, ambassador for the event, which runs from June 27 to July 1, said: “It’s not necessarily about children becoming Olympic athletes but just getting healthier and enjoying themselves.”
Participating schools in this year’s event could win the chance to carry the Olympic torch or win tickets to London 2012.
