A pitch inspection is planned for tomorrow morning as the filthy weather threatens to drown out Alnwick Town’s latest bid to pull away from the relegation danger-zone.
The black and whites are due to entertain Norton & Stockton Ancients, who are currently fifth in Division Two of the Northern League.
Alnwick eased their woes with a 5-1 bashing of Brandon United on Tuesday night, but still remain in a precarious position fourth from bottom of the pile.
But another postponement due to a waterlogged pitch at St James’ Park would mean they will not be able to build on that momentum tomorrow afternoon.
