PIN POINT RECRUITMENT NORTHERN ALLIANCE DIVISION ONE
Amble United...3 Wallsend Town...2 (Wednesday, August 17)
Forest Hall...0 Amble United...2 (Saturday, August 20)
AMBLE United are sitting pretty at joint-top of the table after a perfect start to the season.
Following another two wins this week, the north Northumberland side have nine points from a possible nine and lie second to Wallington on goal difference only.
Last Wednesday, Amble welcomed newly-promoted Wallsend Town for their midweek encounter.
United started the brightest with Sean Taylor going close on three occasions in the first five minutes, before Amble took the lead in the sixth minute when Chris Graham fired home from close range.
However Wallsend equalised in the 11th minute when Sean Reid slotted in a free-kick from 20 yards.
The game continued to go from end to end but Amble took the lead again in the 31st miunte when Sean Taylor chased a through-ball and hit his shot against the keeper. The ball fell to Josh Hay who scored to give Amble a 2-1 lead at half-time.
After the interval, both sides were playing good football but the away side struck first to level the scores in the 59th minute when Lee Garwood converted a penalty.
This spurred United on to play some very good attacking football, creating some good chances before grabbing the winner in the 90th minute.
Sean Taylor went on a good run down the left, beating two defenders before firing his shot into the far bottom corner of the net for a 3-2 victory after a very hard game.

AMBLE continued their winning streak on Saturday when they visited Forest Hall.
The north Northumberland side started strongly, playing some good attacking football, and took the lead in 20th minute when a ball was crossed in allowing Josh Hay to square the ball for Sean Taylor to finish.
Forest Hall came more into the game and had two very good chances to equalise. Dan Brown hit the crossbar and Matt Smith also went close.
After the break, the home side continued to play some good football before Amble started to put the home defence under pressure, which led to them going two up in the 60th minute.
Some good passing up the left led Sean Taylor to put over a good ball to Josh Hay, who scored at the second attempt after the keeper saved the first.
United had another couple of chances to extend their lead but could not put them away, but it was another three points on a day when Amble were not at their best.
