Town fall short at Darlo

ALNWICK Town slumped to a second defeat in five days last night, losing 4-0 to league high-fliers Darlington RA.

The County Durham side move up to third in the STL Northern League Division Two table while Alnwick must reflect on only 4 points from a possible 27 going back to the start of October.

The away side did manage to hold their own and keep the scores level until the hour mark but goals from Stephen Allison, James Evison, Michael Barnett and a penalty from Graeme Whitehead sealed the three points for Darlo.

Alnwick will look to bounce back on Saturday when they host struggling Chester-le-Street, who sit five places below Town in the league and have only won twice away from home this season.
