Title push on after tidy win

Ponteland Madrid U10 0 Longhoughton Rangers U10 4

NMSL U10, Serie A

Longhoughton Rangers kept up their title push with a win at Ponteland.

With Longhoughton camped in the Madrid half and persistent pressure mounting the first goal duly arrived after 12 minutes. A corner was swung in from the left by Lewis Fairbairn. Joseph Cormack controlled instantly just inside the box and tucked his shot neatly inside the post (0-1).

The second half brought more of the same and on seven minutes Longhoughton doubled their lead. Kristian Atkinson drove an in-swinging corner to the near post and such was the power, the keeper could only palm it into his own net (0-2).

Two-nil became three-nil within minutes of the restart.

Cormack, with his back to goal, back-heeled an effort goalwards, bringing the save of the match from the Madrid keeper, who could only push the ball straight into the path of Roan Brayson who made no mistake (0-3).

Longhoughton wrapped up the scoring on 19 minutes when Ben Lawton picked up a loose ball on the edge of the box, feinted to shoot, sending the keeper the wrong way, before placing his shot into the bottom corner.
