Tiny Woods hosted a tournament for first schools at Stobswood Welfare as part of its first birthday celebrations and was hailed a success by both children and parents.
Broomhill, Amble Links, Red Row, Grange View, Acklington C of E and Tritlington C of E First School all accepted invitations from Tiny Woods to compete in its first tournament.
The winners for the Reception-to-Year-2 category were Broomhill, while Grange View won the Year-3-to-Year-4 category.
Tiny Woods was set up in July 2013 for both boys and girls of all abilities between the ages of four and 13 in the local community to engage in fun football activities.
The football coaching sessions take place each Friday night at Stobswood Welfare, with coaches Josh Rutherford and Jamie Dixon, who are both qualified and licensed by the Football Association.
Josh said: “I would like to thank everyone who turned out to the tournament, it was a successful night for all involved.”
Both Josh and Jamie thanked everyone, from the children to the parents and especially Stephen Gibbard, for their effort and support in making Tiny Woods successful in its first year.
Tiny Woods runs every Friday night up at Stobswood Welfare from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
