Morpeth Sunday League round-up

Division One

In the only top-flight game this week, Amble Tavern suffered their first defeat of the season, against Bedlington Barrington Arms 4-2.

Scoring for Amble were Jayden Hindhaugh and Nathan Buddle. All four of Bedlington’s goals were scored by Dylan Williamson.

George Cave Cup

In the first round of the cup, HMP Northumberland defeated North End Trap 5-2 thanks to a Lee Hammond hat-trick and single strikes by Paul Cochran and Jason Singh. The North End replies were scored by Sean Anderson and Mark Mavin.

Ashington RAOB will also join HMP in the next round as they recorded a 5-1 victory over Riverside Lodge. Scoring for Ashington were Darren Reay (two), Mark Race, Shaun Gibson and Jason Richies. The Riverside consolation was scored by Darren Percy.

Division Two

Morpeth Shambles logged a fine 6-0 win over Ashington Conchie thanks to a Stuart Marshall hat-trick and solitary strikes from Michael Adamson, Mitchell Gray and Ross Donnelly.

Amble Blue Bell recorded a narrow 4-3 win against Amble Dock Hotel thanks to goal-scorers Thomas Stones (three) and Daniel Coulson. Amble Dock Hotel’s goals came from Michael Spears (two) and Alistair Douglas.
