Morpeth Sunday League round-up

Only two games took place in the league this week with the majority of clubs enjoying a welcome Easter break.

In Division One, Morpeth Shambles edged out HMP Northumberland 4-3 with all four goals coming from Wyn Fremlin.

The HMP goals were scored by Scott Willis, Nathan Winter and Carl Summerson.

HMP Northumberland fell behind to a penalty after only two minutes before missing a spot-kick themselves.

They had the majority of possession in the first half, but the game was level at half-time with the scores locked at 2-2.

Shambles, however, scored two break-away goals in the second half to make it 4-2, before HMP got within one to set-up a tense finish.

Morpeth Shambles, however, remained resolute, picking up three points in the process.

In Group One of The Ken Gray Memorial Subsidiary Cup, Ashington RAOB defeated Stobswood Welfare 2-0, thanks to strikes from Kieran Robson and Shaun Gibson.
