NFA MINOR CUP, ROUND TWO

SEVEN teams progressed into Round Three after Saturday’s matches.

Rothbury and Tweedmouth Rangers were awarded their ties after their opponents were unable to fulfil the fixture.

Embleton WR found themselves two goals down but came back to win with two goals from Stephen Shendon and a Mark Forrest effort.

Newbiggin found themselves three down at half-time at Fawdon Park United but came back to net five times in the second half.

Red Row had Kevin Bell, Darren Smith and goalkeeper Marc Mavin on the scoresheet in a win at North Shields Town.

Bamburgh were the league’s highest scorers as they netted seven times at Seghill with Johnny Love, Stephen Archer, Johnny Moffet, Johnny Johnson (two), Ian Patten and Guy Fawcus all on the scoresheet.

Tweedmouth Harrow came through after a penalty shoot-out at NCL Medicals.

Craster Rovers lost out 1-2 at home to Friends of Walker after extra-time while the rest of the clubs in the round all lost.
