Waterlogged pitches played havoc with the Northern Alliance fixtures for the sixth week running and the league now faces the prospect of a fixture backlog towards the end of the season.

PREMIER DIVISION

Second half strikes from Mason Stephenson and Stephen Howes gave Seaton Delaval Amateurs the points against Stocksfield while it ended goalless at Northbank as they took on leaders Walker Central in an end-to-end game.

DIVISION ONE

Gareth Pearson slotted the only goal for Wooler in a good win at Birtley Saint Josephs in Division One and it ended all square between Newcastle Uni and second-placed Newcastle Chemfica (Independent). Dan Clements and Dave Kewn netted for the Students with Dean Laycock and Steve McLaughlin scoring for ‘Fica.

DIVISION TWO

Dean Mulholland bagged a brace in Gateshead Leam Rangers’ demolition job on West Allotment Celtic A in Division Two.

Louis Meach, Lee Turnbull, Mark Williams, Liam Grant, Ryan Gibson and James Fenwick all added to the total as they piled on the agony.

High Howdon’s Chris Marshall, Chris Phillips and Anthony Bruce netted as they surprised second placed Longbenton, who had Pete Webster on the scoresheet.

DURHAM FA TROPHY

Gateshead Redheugh celebrated booking a spot in the final of the Durham FA Trophy. Goals from Kev Hay and Scott Robson put them in control and although Sunderland Hylton pulled one back, they conceded an own goal to restore Redheugh’s two-goal advantage. Hylton pulled another back but the Division One side held out for a shot at the silverware.

NORTHUMBERLAND FA LES TODD SENIOR BENEVOLENT BOWL

Lee Hamilton hit a hat-trick in Killingworth Station’s 5-0 win at Cramlington Town in the Northumberland FA Les Todd Senior Benevolent Bowl.

Michael Turner and an own goal completed the tally.

Malcolm Morien scored twice as Blyth Town advanced with a 4-1 win over Red House Farm. Ian Lee and sub John Amos got the others, with Michael Strachan netting for the visitors.

NORTHUMBERLAND FA MINOR CUP

Cullercoats crashed out of the Northumberland FA Minor Cup with a 5-3 reverse at North Northumberland League side Red Row Welfare, but North Shields Athletic will join Newcastle Chemfica Independent in the semi finals after a 5-3 win at Blyth Isabella.

Anthony Keith, Anthony Etherington, Scott Jasper, Sean Millington and Liam Climpson all fired in for Athletic with Andrew Haigh, Jake Miller and Dan Carr netting for a spirited Isabella.
