Panthers prowl in seventh heaven

Tustain Motors Glendale League round-up

Lowick Panthers are definitely in seventh heaven after scoring seven goals for the second consecutive Saturday in the Tustain Glendale League.

Last week, Lowick Wildcats were on the receiving end of a Lowick seven-goal blast and this week it was Wooler. Goals from Hugh Tiser, Kai Jardine, Tyler Winston and hat-trick hero Larson Lambert saw the under 10 side to victory but they were pushed all the way by a Wooler side who scored four in an all-goals-blazing 7-4 shoot-out at the OK Glendale.

Yet if you’re looking for sharp shooters in the Under 10 division then none is quicker to the draw than William Patterson for Seahouses.

William was too fast for Rothbury Rovers in Seahouses’ 3-1 defeat of the former U10 division leaders.

William’s brace of goals were his 23rd and 24th of the campaign and, together with a goal from team mate Benny Crags, underlined a performance that was too good for Rothbury.

Berwick Juniors and Alnwick Vipers continued their serene progress at the top of the Under 10 division.

Berwick Juniors beat Rothbury Rangers 5-0 and Alnwick Vipers defeated the Tigers of Lowick by the same score.

Lowick Wildcats bounced back from last week’s defeat with an excellent 6-1 victory over Felton.

Games were a scarcer commodity elsewhere in the league on this match day.

Lowick Eagles beat Seahouses 4-0 in the only game in the Under 12 division. This allowed more attention to be paid to the League’s ever-growing Under 8 division and especially Felton Under 8s who are having a really good season.

The team’s success has been attributed to top-class goalkeeping from Aiden Stuart and a prolific strike trio of Ethan Robertson, Ben Riley and Mathew Dyson.

In the Under 14 division, there was cause for celebration for Berwick Juniors who underlined their marked improvement from the opening day of the season by recording their first positive result of their campaign with a 1-1 draw with Seahouses. James Aiston scored Seahouses’ goal in a tight encounter.

Another close game in the Under 14 division saw leaders Rothbury edge past Wooler by a goal to nil. Jordan Bruce notched the Rothbury winner.

In the only remaining game, Buster Briggs scored for Lowick Falcons and Ryan Rutter scored for Lowick Rangers.

Cameron Youngman scored the decisive goal for Rangers as they pulsatingly powered past their peers with a passionate 2-1 performance.
