PREMIER DIVISION

Harraby United’s Aaron Roberts was spot on as the Cumbrians beat Rutherford this afternoon, writes Jon Tait.

Roberts stepped up to tuck in the opener from the penalty spot mid-way through the second half and added the second eight minutes later as he played a neat one-two with Andy Douglas that sent him clear to round keeper Keiran MacMillan and roll into the net.

DIVISION ONE

Bedlington Terriers Reserves slipped up and Red House Farm took full advantage to claim pole position.

A Steven Maughan strike gave Forest Hall the win at Terriers while Shane Brooks struck twice for Red House at the Uni. Zack Brogden got the other with Tom Stapleton scoring for the Students.

Hexham’s Liam Heenan hit two as Cramlington Town went down to only their second defeat. An own-goal made it 3-0 at the break and although Mark McIntyre pulled one back, the Tynedalers sealed it when Connor Buchanan came off the bench and marked his debut with a goal.

Gateshead Redheugh romped to a 5-1 win over Willington Quay Saints and Ryan Latimer’s brace was the pick of the bunch. Kevin Hay, John Dewhurst and Graeme King got the others with Kane Chirnside netting for Saints.

Chris Homans (two) and Lenny Lansbury celebrated for Newcastle Chemfica in a good win at Bohemians, who had Dan Child on target.

Daniel Sneap struck twice in the Cullercoats victory over Morpeth Town A.

DIVISION TWO

Wooler striker James Scott is on fire and his double at Wallsend Boys Club rocketed the Glendale side to the top of the table.

Nicky Whitelaw netted for the home side, but couldn’t prevent Barry Guthrie’s team from moving two points clear.

Blyth Isabella went goal crazy at Seaton Burn as they crashed in ELEVEN times. Curtis Miller led the way with a hat-trick and Kris Allington and Daniel Hislop both crashed in two. Matthew Lavender, Michael Meins, Andrew Haigh and Che Aisbett got the others, while Andrew Bennett claimed the consolation.

Alnwick Town reserves found their shooting boots as well as they romped to a 9-0 success. Stephen Hutchins is another striker who just can’t stop hitting the net at the moment and he grabbed four.

Alan Wallace notched a couple and the rout was completed by Chris kidd, Mickey Hall and Peter Murray.

Newcastle Benfield Reserves had Steven Gray (two) and Chris Musgrave (pen) on target at High Howdon, who replied through Scott Dodds and Craig Black and Rob Woods bagged a brace for Longbenton against New Fordley.

David Kane and Peter Webster added the others and Louis Boddy and Lee Waugh got on the scoresheet for the visitors.

NORTHUMBERLAND FA SENIOR BENEVOLENT BOWL

Whitley Bay A’s Ryan Keltie hit the only goal of the game as they sent Amble United crashing out.

Anthony Burns gave holders Killingworth a lead at Heaton Stannington that they held onto until just after the break when Gary Yates equalised.

A hotly disputed penalty led to the visitors being reduced to ten men and falling behind as Gary Dixon crashed home from the spot before further goals from Yates and Kevin Carr capped things off.

Division One’s Ponteland United were giantkillers as they sent Walker Central crashing out.

Alex Patterson, Craig Cook, Paul Ford, Jack Bell and Billy Holden made sure it was a miserable afternoon for the visitors while Percy Main’s James Legget headed the only goal against Heddon and Stocksfield’s Chris Hall grabbed a double, including one from the penalty spot, at Wallington. Richard Lally was also on the scoresheet.

Seaton Delaval raced into a 3-0 half-time lead as they sent Prudhoe Town out.

Jorge Bollado and Luke Newton (2) fired Seaton Delaval raced into a 3-0 half-time lead – and sent Wearside League Prudhoe Town spinning out.

Although Jonnie Hewitson pulled one back and grabbed another from the penalty-spot in the 88th minute, Delaval held firm for the win.

Blyth Town just edged out Ashington Colliers with late goals from John Iveson and Joe Race.
