PREMIER DIVISION

It’s all to play for at both ends of the Premier Division table as the Northern Football Alliance gears up for an exciting run-in.

Leaders Walker Central were trailing to a Lee Hamilton drive at Killingworth Station, but claimed a point as John Robson grabbed a late leveller.

That gave Red House Farm the opportunity to cut the gap at the top to two points with a game in hand as Michael Armstrong, Roi Ticknell and Shane Brooks scored at Rutherford. Mark McMeekin netted for the Gateshead side.

Stuart Bell scored for Northbank with Michael Fenwick replying for Seaton Delaval, who could have won it, but for a great penalty save by Gunners keeper Jack Twentyman.

Goals from David Brown and Joe Moscrop moved Ashington Colliers away from the danger-zone as they pulled off a good win at Whitley Bay A. Michael Clement hit the consolation.

Relegation-threatened Hebburn Reyrolle put up a battling display at Carlisle City with Dean Finnegan (two) and Steven Ives scoring for the bottom side, but the Cumbrians replied through Marc Shiel, Dan Greenslade, Alan Casey, Ian Cumersky and Martin Shepherd.

DIVISION ONE

Anthony Errington, Scott Jasper and Sean Millington left the Cramlington Town keeper on the deck as the NFA Minor Cup Finalists beat the Division One leaders. Jordan Miller hit the consolation.

Dave Owen, Chris Homans, Steve McLaughlin and Dan Sherliker netted for Newcastle Chemfica at Heddon, with Francis Storey and Andrew Davidson replying, while Wooler had Alan McFall, James Jeffries, Scott Hunter, Stu Bertram and Paul Yeadon fire home in their victory over New Fordley. John Waugh notched a consolation.

Joseph Laver’s double helped Newcastle Uni to success over Ponteland United. Jonathon Sexton got the other for the Students with Dan Wright the United target-man and Mark Hammond, Anthony Smith and James Bowman were on the scoresheet for Birtley Saint Joseph’s at Willington Quay Saints. Callum Ancrum netted for the bottom side.

Dean Clay struck twice as Cullercoats won at Bohemians, who netted courtesy of Marcus Burn.

DIVISION TWO

Division Two leaders Longbenton had Anthony Brown, Chris Sword, David Short and Alex Nesbit on target in their win at Alnwick Town Reserves. Kenny Collins replied.

Liam Anderson struck twice as second-placed Grainger Park beat Seaton Burn. Davie Gowling got the other late on, with Ryan Spragg firing in for the visitors while Isabella came from behind to celebrate victory at High Howdon. First-half goals from Daniel Cotton and Chris Chan put the hosts in control, but Dan Long (two), Daniel Hislop, Michael Meins and Curtis Miller (pen) struck after the interval to give Isabella the points.

Steve McCabe and Chris Fenton notched in the first half for Wallsend Boys Club at Newcastle Benfield Reserves, who got one back through Steve Thompson’s top-corner drive.

Ridi Muteba crashed in a hat-trick for West Allotment Celtic A in their victory over Swalwell. Jaddai Kambena slotted the other and neither side could find the breakthrough as Whitburn Athletic drew a blank with Gateshead Leam Rangers.

GEORGE DOBBINS LEAGUE CUP SEMI-FINAL

Lee Gustard’s 88th-minute header booked Shankhouse a spot in the final as they defended superbly to beat Blyth Town.
