Rothbury Rangers striker Sam Burdis saw his goalscoring efforts rewarded when he received a special award for becoming the leading goalscorer in the Tustain Motors Glendale League U10s section.

Sam, who scored an impressive 30 goals in the league, was the leading goalscorer for not only his team, but also the Glendale League’s U10s.

Longhoughton Rangers U10s and their coaches who attended the NMSL League Presentation at Newcastle Racecourse on Sunday 18th May. The boys finished 5th in the second tier of the league competition and all received medals to mark their involvement this season.

The nine-year-old put the ball in the back of the net more times this season than any other player in the league.

His achievements were celebrated at Rothbury Juniors’ presentation night.

Meanwhile, Longhoughton Rangers U10s and their coaches attended the NMSL League Presentation at Newcastle Racecourse.

Outstanding Player-of-the-Season award went to Jack Grisdale, who was again leading goalscorer this season.
